We are attempting to hold off on starting solids until you are six months old, as recommended by the WHO and AAP, but I admit I've let you suck on an apple and a bagel. The bagel was a HUGE hit. Leg kicking and baby cooing ensued.
You are also obsessed with drinking water. Whenever Dada or I has a glass of water you contort your body like a Cirque De Soleil headliner to get to the glass. If we won't give you a messy little sip, you will lick the beads of condensation off the outside. It's pretty funny.
We are planning to skip purees and go right to appropriate table foods, a method gaining popularity in Europe,Canada and among the most fabulous parents in America (just like us...LOL!). The idea is that you will be given a variety of most table foods in a baton or chip shape (think roasted vegetables, fruits, pasta, etc) and you can decide if and how much you eat. Since eating is just for practice at your age, we really like this approach. Supposedly it leads to a wider palette, less picky eaters and hey, it looks like fun! (Mortified friends and family can Google Baby Led Weaning)
Here are a few little videos of you checking out your new, super fancy highchair and the super cool Boon Spoon (the round part bends so that little guys can get food in their mouths easier...not that we think you will need that crutch since you are an extreme genius...but just in case).
We went up to Sonoma County to visit Oma and Opa and to stop by Scherrer Winery's open house. You had a pretty good time meeting Fred until the end, when nap time and wine tasting time collided. Unfortunately, Mommy did not get out the camera until it was impending crank time. Oops! Readers of the blog should rush out and buy lots of Fred's wine. It is super yummy.
No Fred, Please don't put American Oak in the Russian River Syrah!
Hmmm..Do I detect a note of loamy earth and blackberry in the Old and Mature Vines Zin?

BLW is what we are going to do also! Noah is only 3 months though so we have a little longer to wait. You can check him out on his blog... http://noahshiner.blogspot.com/
