10 weeks old today!

Dear Baby Trip,

Just trying on your going home from the hospital outfit (Mommy has a special place in her heart for velour)...It barely fits now. You are big pimpin in the hat though.

Now

I am so not amused, Mommy.

But check me out chillin in my swing! I love my rain forest friends!

Victory in a stroller

Dear Baby Trip,

Today Daddy and I took you on a long walk in your fancy shmancy new stroller that Oma bought for you so that you can lay down while we take walks. You stayed in the stroller the whole time and even took a snooze. And you didn't cry (at least until Mommy pointed out a block away from home that you had not cried the entire time). As your Oma is obsessed with the need for you to have a walk every day, we are calling this a victory.

Our neighborhood park

Tolerating your walk!

Crazy kite surfers (repeat to self: I do not want to do this when I get big)

Auntie Nicole also came to meet you this afternoon. You had a major meltdown about thirty minutes before she arrived, but as soon as you saw that long blonde hair and pretty face you were all smiles. Little stinker.

9 weeks old!

Dear Trip,

Today we had a little photo session in the outfit your great grandparents Mema and Papa gave you. You lounged around on a quilt that was made for your daddy when he was in Gran's tummy long, long ago. Your sentimental mommy thought it was pretty special.

Goal for the day: Fit entire hand in mouth.

After two nights of falling off the wagon, you slept from 9 PM to 5 AM last night and took a lot of short naps today. Still, Mommy was not able to take a shower or get out of her jammies. You did not seem to mind though...Or if you did, then you can't speak yet and I blindly interpreted your cries to mean something else.

You don't mind if I don't shower if I don't mind snuggling you during dinner. Fair trade, my little baby.

Daddy! Did you see that fastball Tim Lincecum just threw?

Two months old!

Dear Baby Trip,

You are two months old today! You impressed Mommy with this feat, showing your upper arm prowess for the first time.

You are holding up your head a lot. We think you are a genius.

You also slept for 7 hours last night and eight the night before. As promised, I will buy you a new car when you turn 16 for that effort.

This hat is not your fave right now.

Eyeing your lunch!

Blue Plate Special!

And a few of your smiling face! You are trying to laugh when you smile. It is super cute.

8 weeks

Dear Baby Trip,

Where has the time gone? It's all kind of a big blur, I have to admit. You are 8 weeks old today and have shed your baby hair and are growing in longer, thicker dark hair now. You have a hysterical old man's ring around the back of your head.

You are getting pretty good about holding your head up and you smile and grin your toothless grin like crazy. You also coo and babble all the time, which is super cute.

You are still pretty cranky at times, but we are trying to get more naps into you and your tummy seems like it might be maturing slowly but surely. We all smell like baby spit up most of the time, but we're used to it by now.

Daddy calls it "ring around the cranium."

A few of your favorite things right now:

Pants off, family jewels open to the breeze. You could lay like that all day.

Kisses from Mommy and Daddy, and imitating our faces when we stick out our tongues or open our mouths wide.

Looking in the mirror at your face.

Sucking on your hands, which you recently discovered are attached to your body.

Cold bottles of breastmilk from the fridge.

Bouncing with anyone on the yoga ball.

Sneezing.

Taking showers with Mommy or Daddy.

Being nekkid is my favorite, Daddy!

Post shower bliss

Hello little baby in the mirror!

A few of your least favorite things:

Sitting in your car seat for more than 5 minutes.

Having to wait for more than 30 seconds to eat when you are hungry.

Being hot.

When your parents want to sit down and eat dinner together.

Your Bebe and Poppy came to visit last week and we left them to babysit you so we could have dinner for Daddy's birthday. They said you did not cry at all. Perhaps they are lying. You had a nice visit with them. They took to the yoga ball quickly!

Bounce, Bebe, bounce!

You also celebrated your first Easter. We went to Bobby and Elizabeth's house and you (mostly) behaved.

And Daddy is so excited to watch baseball games with you! Here you are showing us how you feel about the Dodgers!
