T Mobile

Dear Baby Trip,

I fear we are on the cusp of your first illness. You've inherited a little cough from your recently sickly parents (not naming names on who brought it into the house since it may or may not implicate the writer of the blog and trigger hideous mommy guilt) and have been sneezing more than usual (not that the unabashed pleasure of a sneeze doesn't still bring a big old toothless grin to your face). You woke up from a dead sleep crying tonight and your head sounds all congested. No boogies to suck out with our plethora of boogie sucking torture devices, but your poor head seems stuffed up. We parked you over the humidifier for a bit and drugged you up with a little yummy Tylenol.

Can you nom nom cool mist? Yes, Dada....you can.

Teething continues in earnest around here as well. We can see both bottom and top teeth are fully up and waiting to pop through from the view on the side of your gums. so...any minute now buddy!

Chew toys are for sissies. I got me some ice. Lots of ice. All of it, actually.

And big news....YOU CRAWLED! We were playing on the floor and suddenly you just needed to be across the room badly enough to do it. As soon as you arrived at your destination you promptly burst into tears. It's tough being a big boy.

Crawling. I'm doin' it. In your face.

Sitting up is so last week.

Here you are nom nomming on your crack pipe...I mean your Prevacid syringe.

Happy Rosh Hashanah!

Dear Baby Trip,

Tonight your Oma and Opa came over to help celebrate your first Jewish New Year. You had to skip the honey (baby botulism would be a bad way to spend the next few weeks, no?), but you gnawed on an apple (good teething toy!) to symbolize a sweet new year. How could it not be sweet with you here?

Quality squeaking noises those gums make!

Is it time to eat yet?

Wait, now is it time to eat?

Oma, You're in my light!

You are getting pretty good at sitting unassisted these days and holy cow, you are going to be crawling really, really soon. Mama is SCARED. You've taken to diving off of furniture when you get a chance. I am pretty sure an accidentally but well placed pillow saved you from a concussion yesterday. We think you have a little too much Uncle Jeff and Uncle David in you.

Mommy fills the box with blocks. I empty the box. Repeat, Repeat. Repeat......

We had to adjust the Pack and Play so that we have a safe place to stash you when we need to switch out laundry or go to the bathroom.

We call it Baby Jail. Sorry little T.

Grandparents Galore

Dear Baby Trip,

Been such a busy few weeks for our family. You continue to try lots of new foods and so far, you pretty much like it all! I am so thrilled that we embraced Baby Led Weaning and that you had meatloaf, noodles and carrots for dinner! You dove face first into the plate of meatloaf! (Don't tell anyone that I gave you a taste of birthday cake on my birthday.)

I don't know what all this mess is, but you loved it!

More food equals more baths....and you have graduated to the sink!

Trouble with a capital T!

This is the life, my little bald friend.

Your Poppy and Bebe came to visit over Labor Day weekend and spent Mama's birthday with us. We took you to a French restaurant and you entertained yourself staring at the cute baby in the mirror, eating bread (French bread, of course) and nursing.

I love the moose. And my Bebe.

Poppy makes good snuggles.

Since Dada was in Santa Fe celebrating Uncle Jeff's impending marriage, Oma and Opa were kind enough to come stay here while I worked. They get a serious good grandparent award, since they just came back from newborn duty with Mason. You had a great time with them and everyone came out alive!

Why are these big heads so excited about this food thing?

You are scarily close to crawling this week. You spend most of your time up on your hands and knees rocking back and forth. Oh, I have so much baby proofing to do!!! I think you may crawl before you sit up for a long span of time!

This is my piano. Don't even think about touching it.

Trying to launch yourself upside down.
